I think MWAA nailed it on the architecture for the station at the airport. Being the Harry Weese purest that I am when it come to metrorail station architecture, this is a really good exception to that rule.

It is nice but I can't believe they can't bring it a little closer and run it through the middle of the short term parking lot.
ReplyDeleteOne of the reason why the station is adjacent to the garage has to do with the fact that the Eero Saarinen designed main terminal at Washington Dulles Airport International Airport is on the National Register of Historic Places.
ReplyDeleteBuilding an elevated station in the short term parking lot would effect to overall appearance of the main terminal.
